CNC Operators--Lathe & Mill: 
Salary/ Wage: Based on Experience & Contribution

Education Level: High School or equivalent

Hours: 6 am - 4 pm
Job Purpose: Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a CNC machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment, tools, and a clean work area.

Job Duties: 
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Load feed mechanism by lifting up to 50 lbs of material into position
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards
  • Maintain specifications by continually observing the drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements, detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. 
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. 
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions;            calling for repairs. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. 
  • Programming, editing, and set-up experience a plus
